Narrative
RENTON, WA – A wrong-way crash in south Renton early Sunday claimed the life of a 63-year-old man. The incident took place shortly after 2 a.m. as the victim was driving south on the highway. His vehicle was hit head-on by a driver going north in the southbound lanes. The driver of the southbound vehicle, who was from Auburn, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wrong-way driver, identified a 35-year-old man from Tacoma, was injured in the crash and taken to a medical center in Seattle. He was subsequently arrested by the Washington State Patrol on charges of vehicular homicide.
