Truck crash causes 6 hour delay on southbound I-5

BLAINE, WA- A crash closed down all southbound lanes on the interstate near Peach Portal Drive on Wednesday morning, KING 5 Staff reports.

Washington State Department of Transportation arrived on the scene at mile marker 273. They found that the truck involved in the accident had leaked fuel onto the interstate.

I-5 was closed from about 5:30a.m. up until 11a.m. The WSDOT  oversaw the scene as the vehicles, debris, and fuel were cleaned during this time. A small amount of traffic was allowed to pass starting at 10a.m., before all lanes were reopened.

There is not yet an official statement concerning the cause of the crash.
