LACY, WA – A man was killed when his pickup truck careened into a work zone on I-5 near Lacy early Friday.
The crash took place in the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Carpenter Road overpass at about 5 a.m.
Troopers say the pickup truck was driving erratically at a high rate of speed when it entered the work zone and struck an attenuator truck and an excavator.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
No workers were present when the crash occurred.
