Three-car accident causes one death, three hospitalizations near GEG

SPOKANE, WA – A Spokane woman faces charges including vehicular manslaughter for her part in a three-car wreck that killed one person and hospitalized three others including herself on I-90 on Saturday.

According to Big Country News, the event occurred just past midnight near mile marker 278.1 and began when a westbound vehicle driven by Cynthia Macy, 63, abruptly changed lanes, striking another westbound vehicle.

A third vehicle close behind the initial accident then crashed into Macy’s car, which had turned to face eastbound.

The fatality victim was the 21-year-old male driver of the second vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger and both other drivers were hospitalized with injuries of unspecified severity.

Macy also faces charges of vehicular assault in connection with the accident.
