SPOKANE, WA – A female pedestrian died, and a male pedestrian was seriously hurt Wednesday night after a vehicle struck them at busy Spokane intersection.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Maple Street and West 4th Avenue, which is in downtown Spokane, just north of U.S. Route 2 and south of West Sunset Boulevard.
At this time, it’s unclear what might have caused the driver to hit the pedestrians. Police say the driver remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
Medics transported both pedestrians to a local hospital. The woman died after transport, while the man sustained life-threatening injuries.
