GIG HARBOR, WA – The passenger of a vehicle died in a crash on Purdy Drive after the driver of his vehicle fell asleep at the wheel Wednesday morning.
AOL News reports that the accident occurred close to 5 a.m. on the 12900 block of Purdy Drive. The driver of an SUV fell asleep, allowing the vehicle to drift across the road through the oncoming lane an into a ditch.
The resulting fatality crash killed a 34-year-old man who was riding in the vehicle.
Two children in the vehicle were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was seriously injured. She received multiple citations including “negligent driving in the second degree.”
