Narrative
Diego M. Garza, a Gonzaga University student, passed away on Feb. 14th when his car flipped over on I-90, igniting a fire. Garza had crossed the median and then tried to correct himself but overcompensated, causing his 2003 Chevrolet Blaze to roll. This happened around 5:30a.m. about 10 miles east of Ritzville. The 18 year-old was pronounced dead at the scene when authorities arrived. The president of the university, Thayne McCulloh, shared the sad news with the college community the same morning. A prayer service was held for Garza at the university the next week.
