Narrative
TACOMA, WA – A collision involving a tractor-trailer hauling junk cars closed all southbound lanes of the interstate in Tacoma on Wednesday.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on the southbound side of I-5 near South 38th Street, which is just east of Costco Wholesale and southwest of Reed Elementary School.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the tractor-trailer rolled and crashed on I-5, releasing junk cars across the southbound side of the interstate.
It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the accident. Officials closed all southbound lanes of the interstate while crews worked to clear the scene.
An investigation is underway.
