SPANAWAY, WA – A multi-vehicle crash killed one person Friday morning along the highway in western Pierce County.
The incident happened before 6:30 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 7 just south of 176th Street in Spanaway.
Police say that an initial crash involving a car and a truck caused a series of additional crashes. An 18-wheeler was involved.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the first collision died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.
Medics transported one other person involved in the collision to the hospital.
