Narrative
FIFE, WA – A 26-year-old man died Friday after a three-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler along the interstate in northern Pierce County.
The incident occurred around 4:42 a.m. on the southbound side of I-5 near 70th Avenue East, which is in the city of Fife.
Police say the victim was southbound when his vehicle crashed into a disabled car in the shoulder. Shortly after this initial collision, a semi-truck struck the first vehicle.
The unrestrained driver of the first vehicle, identified as Alexander Conley, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Medics transported the driver of the disabled car to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
