Narrative
Aparicio Mendoza Matias, 27, died on March 22nd after causing two collisions on U.S. 101. Matias was impaired when he struck both vehicles. First, Matias struck a 2020 Jeep Wrangler from behind at 6:25p.m. The car than veered off to the northbound lane and hit a 2004 Audi TT. Matias died because he was not wearing a seatbelt. His passenger, who was utilizing the seatbelt, was not harmed. The other drivers were injured but no specifics were provided on their injuries. It is known that the Wrangler’s driver was hospitalized at MultiCare Capital Medical Center while the Audi’s driver was taken to Mason General Hospital. Both of these victims were women in their 60s.
