Man killed while trying to cross U.S. 101

MASON CO, WA- A driver was killed by an oncoming vehicle while trying to cross U.S. 101 on Friday, The Olympian Staff reports.

A 28 year-old male, along with a female passenger and two children, was driving south on U.S. 101. Jon P. Martin, a 36 year-old was trying to cross that highway on Hurley Waldrip Rd. when he was hit and killed by the other driver.

U.S.101 SB was closed from 2p.m. to 5p.m.

Martin died at the scene.

All the others were hospitalized at Providence St. Peter Hospital.

The Washington State Patrol remains in charge of the investigation.
