PORT ORCHARD, WA – One person died on Thursday morning in Port Orchard after a hit-and-run crash along Highway 3.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. in the area of Sunnyslope Road SW, which is just southeast of Gold Mountain Golf Club.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the person who died in the crash.
Police say they located the driver and vehicle that fled not far from the site of the accident.
Highway 3 remained closed for several hours after the collision while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
