Narrative
At 3:10p.m., a 53 year-old male from Bremerton drove against traffic and crashed into a semitruck around milepost 120 on I-5, causing significant traffic. When the accident occurred, it also began a vehicle fire. It took two hours for first responders to clear the area. In the meantime, traffic was greatly affected. Within an hour and a half, both the southbound and northbound lanes had traffic that was six miles long. Three lanes in the southbound direction were opened shortly after 4:30p.m, with the rest opening by 5p.m. The northbound lanes were significantly more affected as they were not fully opened until 10p.m. The at-fault driver had some injuries, but nothing serious. No mention was made of the other driver’s condition.
