TACOMA, WA- Four collisions left one arrested and involved two WSDOT cars and a WSP car on the morning of Oct 7th, KING 5 Staff reports.
The location of all the crashes was near South 56th Street.
The first crash happened at 12:42a.m. when a car hit the back of a WSDOT car that was guarding a street sweeper. This at-fault driver was arrested as police believed he was intoxicated.
The second crash occurred when another vehicle hit the at-fault driver’s vehicle. Then both these vehicles hit a third vehicle. The driver responsible for this accident had non-life threatening injuries.
The WSDOT car that responded to this crash in order to close off the lanes was hit by another vehicle causing yet another crash.
Finally, the last crash occurred when an empty WSP car that had also responded to the former calls was hit by a pickup. The pickup did not stop and the driver was not caught.
All lanes were open by late Friday morning.
