Narrative
VANCOUVER, WA – A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman died Sunday when the vehicle in which they were passengers crashed along a Vancouver highway.
The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of WA-500 at Thurston Way, which is just south of the Vancouver Mall.
The investigation indicates that an alleged DUI driver lost control of an SUV, drove through a guardrail on the WA-500 overpass, and overturned onto Thurston Way.
The male passenger, identified as Jayson Jimmy, died at the scene of the crash, while the female passenger died after transport to a local hospital.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Mickleen Daniel, went to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police say that Daniel will face charges that include vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.
The investigation is ongoing.
