VANCOUVER, WA – A 25-year-old man died, and two people went to the hospital Wednesday night after a four-vehicle collision on a Vancouver highway.
The crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. on the westbound side of WA-14, or the Lewis and Clark Highway, near milepost 5, which is near the Ellsworth area.
The investigation indicates that an eastbound 2007 Volvo S40 entered the westbound lanes of WA-14 and struck both a 2009 Mazda MX and a 2022 Volkswagen Passat. The Mazda then collided with a 2007 Toyota Camry.
Medics transported two people from the Volkswagen to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The wrong-way driver of Volvo died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Ryan M. Smith.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
