Narrative
LACEY, WA – One person died Monday evening after a vehicle struck them along the interstate in north Thurston County.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. on the northbound side of I-5 near Carpenter Road Northeast in Lacey, which is northwest of Olympic View Elementary School.
Police haven’t shared any details about the accident, nor have they released the identity of the victim. It’s unclear if the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene.
Officials closed the northbound side of I-5 in the area of the accident while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene. All lanes re-opened by around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
