Narrative:
SEATTLE, WA – Six people were hospitalized on Monday in Seattle after a multi-vehicle crash caused by a DUI driver on the interstate.
The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. on the southbound side of I-5 just south of Mercer Street, which is southeast of Lake Union Park and the Museum of History and Industry.
Police say that a northbound Hyundai Veloster collided head-on with a southbound Toyota Highlander on the southbound side of the interstate. An 18-wheeler then struck the Toyota, injuring all six occupants.
Medics transported six people from the Toyota to the hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
The 36-year-old woman driving the Hyundai was arrested at the scene on charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
