Woman killed in Poulsbo after striking utility pole

POULSBO, WA – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash outside of Poulsbo when her car struck and downed a utility pole on Sunday night.

The Kitsap Sun reports the accident took place close to 11:57 p.m. on the 16000 Block of Lemolo Shore Drive where responders found 27-year-old Danielle Lorraine Simpson in a Chevrolet Trailblazer that had crashed into a pole and was underneath live power lines.

Responders declared Simpson deceased at the scene of the crash.

No official word on what is thought to have caused the crash, though investigators believe speed was a factor.
