Driver killed after crashing into tree off of Route 165

PIERCE COUNTY, WA – A man was killed after driving his car into a tree off of Route 165 last Thursday, The News Tribune reports.

The accident reportedly occurred at approximately 2 a.m. between Wilkeson and Cabonado.
The driver, an unidentified 23-year-old, was travelling south in a Subaru Impreza when the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane, continuing off the highway and eventually crashing into a tree.

Responders declared the man dead at the scene.

Impairment has not been ruled out as a cause of the accident.
